About Haberman Law

Christopher Haberman brings a unique blend of talent and experience to the practice of law. The first 15 years of his legal career were spent as an investigator for the in-house law firm of a major nationwide non-profit organization. He was licensed in California and Washington, DC. He managed a team of 20 other investigators on complex, often high-profile, civil, criminal, administrative, and tax matters.
In the 1980's he attended law school and settled in Visalia California, were he was a partner in a law firm focusing was on criminal and civil litigation in state and federal courts. His accomplishments are too lengthy and varied to list, but here’s a sampling:

  • LIFE verdict in a double homicide death penalty case
  • Successfully represented defendants accused in a white-collar conspiracy case in state and federal court and before the IRS, of running the largest bookmaking operation in thes State of California
  • Defeated the California Department of Fish & Game in their attempts to shut down legal native California reptile breeders
  • Successfully used a CERCLA action on behalf of a bank to force the environment cleanup of a circuit board manufacturing facility

Christopher Haberman has handled dozens of appeals over the years. For 10 years he brought appeals for indigent criminal defendants on an appointed independent basis for the 2nd (LA), 3rd (Sacramento) and 5th (Fresno) appellate districts. Among his wins were a published case which overturned a statutory scheme on Constitutional grounds (vagueness). Others helped define the rights of Mentally Disordered Offenders in trial.​

Mr. Haberman has also acted as counsel for marketing and advertising companies and co-founded a healthcare communications company, Marketing Over Time, Inc.

In addition, he gives Mandatory Continuing Legal Education courses to other attorneys on issues related substance abuse and treatment, through the Other Bar.

​Currently, he applies his legal and investigative experience in the arena of writs and appeals.

Christopher Haberman has always been very involved in his community of Visalia, California. He was a board member and president of the United Way of Tulare County, and of CASA of Tulare County. In addition, he has been a board member of the Visalia Community Players and the Visalia Police Activities League.
